Transpotation

• Buses: The P4 (Brixton to Lewisham) travels along Honor Oak Road and the Fairlawn School stop is right outside the Centre. Several buses pass Horniman's Museum including the 176, 185 and 197.

  • Trains: 10-15 minutes walk (partly uphill) from both Honor Oak Park and Forest Hill railway stations. Honor Oak Park is closer and you can catch the P4 bus across the road from the exit. Both stations are on the London Bridge to East Croydon line as well as the Overground line from Highbury & Islington to Crystal Palace/West Croydon.

Preschool Immunization Booster

• All children are advised to have their preschooler immunization Booster top up around the age 3 and 31/2 years old, please contact your GP for appointment.

Infection Control

• • If your child becomes unwell and carries any infectious illness that can pass on to other children, please keep your child at home.

Attendance Policy

• It is parents' responsibility to ensure your children attending their school

  • Please be punctual

  • Please notify school if you will be late, absent due to family holiday, illness or sickness

Snack & Lunch 

• • School will provide healthy snacks at snack time

  • Parents to provide healthy packed lunch for children who attend for a whole day

  • Please do not pack fizzy drinks, food containing nuts, eggs and chocolates

Clothing

• • Children are expected to come to school with clean and appropriate clothing with necessary accessories according to the weather and personal needs

  • Children to come to school with additional set of changing clothes

  • Children to come to school with indoor shoes, Wellington, and rain coats, gloves, sun hat, scarf, and sun cream etc

  • There are preschool sunhat, preschool note book, preschool bag, and preschool mug available for parents and children to purchase at a set price, please contact Ms Carry for details.

Communication

• • The communication between parents and school is through websites, email, telephone, and face to face contact

  • Parents days will take place at the end of each term for children's progress discussion

  • Parents will receive annual report about child's progress in EYFS curriculum

Parent's involvement

• • Parents are encouraged to support children's learning at home and to help on school trips or class room reading and activities

  • Parents are informed about school's term theme with guidance through school website and direct email to parents

  • Parents are welcome to share their ideas and suggestions to enhance school's provision in children's learning via school email address on preschool@hornby.org.uk

Rewards and Sanctions

• • Each week there is a star of the week award given to a child to encourage positive behavior

  • Each day there is a star of the day award given to a child for being a star pupil

  • For unwanted behavior, reminders and warnings will be used before parental consultation is arranged

Social Events

• • Coffee morning will be held once a term for parents

  • End of term party on each term: Easter Party, Summer Party, Sport Day and Christmas Party
